Gather around the fire, because today we have a recipe on the classic campfire favorite: the humble yet delicious campfire potato! Whether you’re in the woods or just craving that cozy campfire atmosphere, this recipe is sure to delight your taste buds and remind you of simpler times. So, start a fire, grab your foil, and let’s get started on this easy yet delicious potato recipe that will up your campfire cooking game!

 

You need 7 things for this recipe:

  • A Potato
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Butter
  • Tinfoil
  • A Campfire

 

Step 1: Start by lighting a fire, then wait until the fire builds up some coals.

 

Step 2: Lay out a piece of tinfoil, put your potato on that piece then pour oil on top of the potato.

 

Step 3: Massage the oil onto the potato and wrap the potato in the tinfoil.

 

Step 4: Put the wrapped potato into the coals for 30 minutes.

 

Step 5: Adjust the potato on new hot coals, flip the potato and wait another 30 minutes.

 

Step 6: Grab the potato off the fire (with tongs or some sticks) and wait for it to cool down.

 

Step 7: Cut open the potato, put some butter on and season with salt and pepper, and then eat!

 

If you want to spruce up your campfire potato you can add a few toppings, we recommend some baked beans or chili. Both are amazing, especially with cheese sprinkled on top.
