Master Angler Update

Zara Spook fishing lureLake XP and those Top Water Wonders!
Lastweek we included a little primer on top water fishing, in this newsletter. Two of our guests from Oshkosh, Wisconsin tried it out on Lake XP…the little lake with the big pike bite. They reported catching more pike in three hours, than they have in their whole fishing life…and all on White Zara Spooks, with the barbs removed…

Wilderness North Master Anglers, Aug2006Yup…There’s More Master Anglers. Was it: The full moon? Better anglers? All of the above? Probably “all of the above”… So we stayed busy again this week passing out those Master Angler Pins, and taking guest photos at our “Wall of Fame”. Most notably was the two pike over forty inches who were caught at the same time, by Tim and Tom of Naperville, IL. The father son twosome, caught the pike twosome, and released them after the photos. It all happened at our Mojikit Channel Lodge, in the Ogoki Reservoir.

Congratulation also goes out to Eric Halverson, with his 44 inch pike, caught in the “Narrows” area of Whitewater Lake from Striker’s Point Lodge. Eric and his dad were being guided by Perry Compton at the time the big girl showed up.

David Karwas and his party went up to Musgrave Lake Outpost cabin and reported lots of pike and Walleye, and David checked in with a 29” Walleye.

Good Fishing,
Alan
