Come Fly Away…From Chi-Town

Joe Pichey, Wilderness North specialistAs your trip planner, it is my job to help you with every step of the planning of your adventure. And for many of our guests that means air transportation. Well, there is a new airline serving Thunder Bay, and traveling with them can help you avoid big airport hassles, and save you money.

Fly PorterPorter Air, a Canadian Company, offers three daily flights from Chicago’s Midway Airport through  Toronto’s City Centre Airport – and over to the Thunder Bay airport. Toronto’s City Centre is a small airport with Custom Services. Porter flies the turbo prop Bombardier Q400 with plenty of leg room and complimentary snacks. There are 70 seats available on each flight. A stop at Porter Air’s website can fill in the details on available flights and prices, but I have seen fares as low as $349 round trip for June 2010. Plus, Chicago’s Midway Airport is a great handshake with Southwest Air.

So if you’re planning to travel by air, ask me to find these money saving options for you. It is not only my job, but something I like doing for our guests. –Joe Pichey
