When choosing a bug repellent you should keep in mind that 30% is the maximum effectiveness of DEET and has the same bug repellent strength as anything above 30% but it will last longer. So why would you want to use 30% or 20%? Firstly it feels more oily on your skin and has a pungent odor, but the main problem is that the higher the percentage the more corrosive it is for your clothes/gear so be careful when going in the upper ranges. For the insect proof clothing we use Insect Shield because it gives us the choice to either just buy clothes from their website or send off your clothes to them so that they can apply the repellent to your own clothes. The clothes that are sent back to you also have a discrete stamp on them so that you can know which of your clothes have the insect shield. But before you send off your clothes make sure that they can actually insect shield your clothing because some materials don’t work with the repellant.
