Fishing Report from Wilderness North's Zig Zag Outpost

Zig Zag delivers Plenty of Walleye + Three Trophy Pike

Rob Junkroski – of Illinois and his five very knowledgeable and experienced angler friends spent four days at Zig Zag — and accounted for countless numbers of what Mark a member of the group from Lombard, Illinois, calls “the biggest sized Walleyes I have ever caught!”

With most of their angling done near the river inlet, and the Crescent Lake inlet, three members of the group also registered 40 inch Pike: Mark Hill, Marcel Hass, and Mike Haas. The Pike were taken in 8-10 feet of water, and Mr. Furjanic says “The Walleye seemed to be everywhere on the lake!” Mark – one of this group of mostly accountants – said while they did not keep exact catch records, they would certainly call their visit to Zig Zag – “very profitable.”
