This week at Striker’s Point Lodge we welcomed the Smith Party from Maryland, the Bruner Party from Arkansas and the Mullally Gang from New York. The Smiths, guided by our own Luke Chisolm caught a nice honourable mention 36-in Northern Pike. It was caught on what seems to be this year’s magic lure, the Storm Brand Wild Eyed Seeker Shad. The best fishing was found at the north ends of the islands east of Burnt Island. From their own reports, this father and son combo had a great trip and we hope to see them back soon.
The Bruners, in the boat with First Nation Guide, Peter Nate, caught a lot of Walleye with Leo catching a Walleye Master Angler trophy at 27-in. In addition, they reported catching a lot of Pike, even one which had a Walleye in it’s mouth. They had a great shore lunch every day. While Tim Mullally is a bit more relaxed about angling, he did catch plenty of Walleye for his shore lunch everyday. He loves the wilderness and catching fish is, as he claims, “Just a bonus”.
