The Brussee Party – Seven Guys from Kalamazoo – had a great time at Miminiska Lodge on the Albany River this past week – with great angling and three fantastic shore lunches. Their favorite fishing spots during the day were Snake Falls, Pettawanga, and the West Arm where Paul discovered a productive spot now called Paul’s Cove where the Walleye are big and catchable. While we have no official Master Anglers to report, there’s a monster Pike that broke the line twice at Pettawanga near the drop. Both times the rod was rigged with a white Mr. Twisters so now that Pike is wearing a white “foo-manchoo.” Three Brookies, pushing 24-inches, were caught at Pettawanga on white jigs at the rapids. Also good luck was had with long suspended jerk baits, rattlin’ raps and Johnson Silver Minnows for Walleye in the shallows. Twin Falls and the Honey Hole are nearby and favorite places in the evening hours. The Brussee crew had great weather (rained only one day) and covered a lot of water during their stay. We look forward to seeing them next year.
