Celebrating 30 Years of Wilderness North  –

Walleye Scampi

With all the great fishing going on, I have walleye recipes coming at me left right and centre. Here’s one I am excited to share with you. This week we have a yummy one, Walleye Scampi. This delicacy is easy to whip up but oh, so good.

  • Take chunks of walleye, butter, garlic chopped fine and some salt & chopped fresh parsley.
  • Melt the butter, sauté the garlic until soft and then add the walleye.
  • Sauté until the walleye is cooked through and season with salt & parsley.
  • Serve with a crusty baguette (to soak up all the garlic butter), pair with a crisp white wine.

There is a new way of buying wine that I am excited about.  Tetra pack wine. It comes in 1L packs (more bang for your buck) and travels much nicer than glass bottles –perfect for stuffing into your pack and heading up north. There are several decent ones that are now available at our LCBO stores. Try it if your fishing trip is looking for a little wine time 🙂

Happy Cooking,
Krista
