The 2014 season at Wilderness North is coming to a close. All the lodges are closed up for the winter, we winterized the final outpost camp last weekend and just in time. Snow came to Armstrong on Monday and it seems like it might be staying for good now. We started seeing flakes in Thunder Bay last night. The planes are out of the water and in the hangar for their yearly checkups.
With everything shut down for the season and the last moose hunter sent on their way, you may think Wilderness North has slowed down for the winter, but that’s not the case! We are busy filling dates for the 2015 season and the phones are ringing off the hook! We are excited about the next season and can’t wait to share with you all the changes the New Year will bring. Here’s a little sneak peak of what’s to come in 2015.
In 2015, we are re-launching our outposts at D’Alton and Musgrave. Many people will recall the fantastic trophy walleye fishery at Dalton and the gorgeous scenery there. Past guests will recall as well that Musgrave was always a fast action walleye fishery, with the added bonus of trophy pike at Kilbarry—the portage was cleaned up and the boats were serviced there this fall. We recently found an old guestbook that compared fishing on Musgrave to fishing in a barrel! Now that’s fast action! Also, due to popular demand, we are extending the season at Miminiska Lodge and are welcoming bookings in June. Contact us soon if you’re interested, we already have several weeks booked up.
If you haven’t heard from us yet, you soon will. Meryl and Valda are reaching out to our guests from the past, the present and those we haven’t met yet. Keep your eyes on your inbox, mailbox and ears open for the phone—we will be contacting you!
We look forward to the upcoming months and can’t wait to reveal more of what’s in store for 2015
