New Air Service for Wilderness North!

Wilderness North (WN), Ontario’s premiere adventure provider, is thrilled to announce the acquisition of Nakina Air Service, an established passenger and air charter service located in Nakina, Ontario.

In March 2019, ZAM began charter operations from their wheel-based hangar in Nakina, a small northern town known for mineral exploration and a gateway to some of the best remote fishing experiences in Canada. Located at the end of Highway 584, approximately 60 kilometers north of Geraldton, ZAM is perfectly situated to service the north.

Alan Cheeseman, President of Wilderness North said, “ZAM is dedicated to continue to offer the high level of customer service that Nakina Air Service has provided for the past couple of decades.” Cheeseman continued, “We are proud to serve the northern communities and look forward to expanding the service, keeping the corridors to these northernmost communities accessible; in essence enabling travelers to fly on their own schedules.”

ZAM offers weekly passenger and freight charter service to Eabametoong First Nation and Marten Falls First Nation every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. For booking information, call 800-797-4424.

This also means that ZAM planes will be flying passengers from Thunder Bay to Miminiska this upcoming season–taking care of every detail, from start to finish!

Alan & Krista Cheeseman own WN, a Thunder Bay based adventure travel tourism business. With a passion for the great outdoors and love of fishing, they have been crafting unique wilderness experiences for the past 27 years; WN operates lodges and outpost camps in the Albany and Ogoki watersheds. Adventuring into the world’s largest intact boreal forest is an experience they have shared with thousands of visitors from around the globe. With more than 250,000 lakes and 60,000 miles of river teeming with fish and ready to explore, Northern Ontario is the number one outdoor adventure destination in North America.
