Well, sort of. Gord Ellis (right with Scott Earl Smith left), a member of our writers resource team tells us more in his most recent article, “Water Levels & Level Headed Safety Tips for Wilderness Travelers.” Gord compares winter ’06-’07 to our current ’07-’08 winter, and declares this year “more typical.” Gord feels the northern lakes and streams should be at full pool at “ice out” and that Lake Superior, which reached record lows last year, should recover some from the snowy winter that is soon ending. On another note, Gord recalls his trip to Miminiska last fall with fellow writer Scott Earl Smith, that resulted in 8 stitches for Smith as he chats with us in this week’s podcast as well.
