The first beaver ride in history was in 1947, and we tracked down the pilot himself! Pulled from our archives is this incredible podcast interviewing Second World War ace and former chief test pilot Russell Bannock and Chief Test pilot and aviation legend George Neil.

With help from Neil Aird, creator of the historical tracking website for De Havilland Beaver planes, we were able to get in touch with Russell and George to learn more about the plane we fly daily each summer! Our very own Beaver NZO has been tracked through the years, and information dating back to 1952 is included on the website.
