Celebrating 30 Years of Wilderness North  –

Father’s and Son’s

Fathers and Sons !
Gord Ellis, Writer Wilderness NorthA couple of years ago we had the chance to meet one of Canada’s best outdoor writers and broadcasters, Gord Ellis. When we asked Gord if he would write a few columns every year for us, he never hesitated at the chance. After all, we were going to introduce him to many of our destinations, and simply ask him to share his experience, AND to advise us on resource management. This week Gord does a little introduction of his own. He’s just back from Miminiska Lodge, one of two American Plan lodges we have on the Albany River. Last week, Gord introduced his 14 year old son to the area …and…to fly fishing. We flew them into the head waters of the Keezhik River, and with Guide Tyler Lancaster the lesson began. In Gorďs article, and this week’s podcast, he tells you how the trip unfolded. Next week Gord takes on “Walleye with a Fly Rod.”
